January 11, 2010 – 4 p.m. Update
So far today, Clearwater Marine Aquarium (CMA) has received 14 more live sea turtles from Pinellas County with “cold stun.” They were found at Honeymoon Island, Caladesi, Belleair Beach, Clearwater Beach, Indian Shores and Anclote Key. This brings the total number of sea turtles at CMA with this condition to 41.
It is being reported that over the last four days, more than 1,200 sea turtles have been placed at facilities across the state with “cold stun.”
