Don’t Miss “Saving Our Beaches and Coastal Ecosystems”
Clearwater, Fla. (January 8, 2010) – Clearwater Marine Aquarium (CMA) will continue its free speaker series Thursday, January 21 with “Saving Our Beaches and Coastal Ecosystems.” The presentation will include information about our local barrier island and beach ecology. Several local experts will explore what we can all do to preserve our ecosystems, the human impact on our beaches, the role our beaches play on local sea life and the importance of local beach clean-up efforts.
“Saving Our Beaches and Coastal Ecosystems” will include the following:
6 p.m. – Snacks/Welcome
6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. – Presentations by CMA’s Director of Education Joe Malo, Pinellas County Department of Environmental Management’s Assistant Director Andy Squires and Department of Environmental Protection Environmental Specialist Dan Larremore (who will talk about shore bird nesting in Pinellas County)
7:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. – Question and Answer Session
As part of this free program, CMA will host “All About Sharks” February 18. March 18 will feature “All About Dolphins: An Update.” Visit www.SeeWinter.com to see speaker series lectures planned for the entire year. Clearwater Marine Aquarium is a Florida non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, dedicated to marine life rescue, rehabilitation and release.
