westgate2Winter the dolphin recently got some special visitors from Westgate Elementary School in St. Petersburg. Second and 3rd graders in the English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) program actually taped a news report while at CMA. Kids interviewed other kids about Winter. During the activity, the kids learned about animal rescue, building self esteem and how to adapt into a new place. The students also made special cards for Winter.

Hi Ms. Santana’s class! There you are on Winter’s website! I am here at the University of Florida showing all of Ms. Santana’s teachers your pictures. It was so wonderful to meet you. My presents were AMAZING. I can’t wait to come see you again.

Ms. Santana – thank you SO much for including me in this incredible experience. It was so exciting to see you as a teacher researcher in action.

REMEMBER: If Winter can do it, WE can do it!

Much Love,

Darby Delane
