CMA to Support 5K

grandprix5k Winter has become a source of inspiration to millions around the world, encouraging people of all ages to overcome life’s obstacles. Winter and CMA are asking the public to participate in the Grand Prix 5K in downtown St. Petersburg Friday, March 26 at 6:30 p.m., to help raise funds for others with life challenges. All participants will receive one FREE admission to CMA. General David Patraeus, the Commander of U.S. Central Command in Tampa and former Commanding General of the Multi-National Force in Iraq will reunite with wounded veteran Brian Brennan during the event.

The event race course will be held on the actual St. Grand Prix race course, and participants will be allowed to see a number of the race cars and drivers. You can experience every curve and straightaway the night before the big race weekend. Participants of all ages can walk, run or wheel the race. This family friendly event will benefit four non-profit causes that are near and dear to Winter’s heart, including spinal cord research. Winter is overcoming her spinal cord issue with the use of a prosthetic tail and wants to help others with similar issues. The cost is $25 before the race and $30 the day of if slots are still available.

The event supports the Sam Schmidt Paralysis Foundation, the Florida Chapter of the Challenged Athletes Foundation, American Spinal Research Organization Shoot for A Cure, and Operation Rebound for Wounded Veterans.
