Campers from H20 to Go, a Tampa-based camp that inspires physically challenged children to overcome their life obstacles, visited CMA to meet the famous Winter the Dolphin, who lost her tail but overcame this and other challenges to flourish. Each child received the “Winter’s Team” program, as they spend two hours experiencing Winter’s inspiring story. This motivational experience includes a tour of CMA, a private motivational discussion with CMA CEO David Yates, a viewing of Winter’s documentary, “Winter: The Dolphin that Could” and concludes with a meet and greet with Winter and her trainer. One of the campers is 4th grader Emily Clarke, of Tampa who had an even more amazing experience when she was selected to get in the water to meet Winter. Emily has spina bifida, but competes in a wide variety of sports including swimming and wheelchair basketball, and was very excited to meeting Winter for the first time. Representatives from the Challenged Athletes Foundation arranged this inspirational program.
